Connecting to IU Guest wireless using a conference account or Network Access account

To make a wireless connection to the IU network with a conference account or Network Access account, follow the appropriate steps below. You will have access to the network for eight hours, after which you will need to repeat these steps for continued access.

Windows Vista

  1. From the Start menu, open the Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Sharing Center. Then click Connect to a network.
  3. Double-click IU Guest (you may need to scroll down).
  4. Open a web browser. You should be directed to the "Wireless Connectivity for IU Visitors" page.
  5. Enter your Network Access or conference account username and password in the "Guest username:" and "Guest password:" fields.

Windows XP

  1. When your laptop comes in range of a wireless signal, you'll see a balloon in the system tray (near the clock) saying "Wireless networks detected". Click the balloon.
  2. In the Wireless Network Connection window that opens, click IU Guest.
  3. Open a web browser. You should be directed to the "Wireless Connectivity for IU Visitors" page.
  4. Enter your Network Access or conference account username and password in the "Guest username:" and "Guest password:" fields.

Mac OS X

  1. From the Airport menu, select IU Guest.
  2. Open a web browser. You should be directed to the "Wireless Connectivity for IU Visitors" page.
  3. Enter your Network Access or conference account username and password in the "Guest username:" and "Guest password:" fields.
