At IU, what is the Faculty Podcasting Initiative?
The Faculty Podcasting Initiative is intended to encourage faculty to examine and develop innovative methods of using multimedia podcasting to enhance student learning at Indiana University.
As part of the initiative, UITS solicited proposals for developing podcasts and research examining how podcasts can enhance student learning. Successful applicants are eligible to receive hardware and software for creating, publishing, or using podcasts, and for research on the effectiveness of podcasting for instructional purposes.
Proposals were due March 24, 2008. A faculty committee reviewed proposals, and identified 61 successful applicants April 30, 2008.
