What is Globus, and where can I find out how to use it on XSEDE?

The Globus ToolkitTM provides software tools for grid computing, including tools for authentication, scheduling, file transfer, and resource description. With the Grid Resource Allocation and Management (GRAM) component, you can submit jobs remotely from your local machine to Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) platforms.

For information about using GRAM on XSEDE, see the Running Jobs Using GRAM in the TeraGrid User Support archives. Also see the GRAM technology characteristics in the XSEDE Technology Database.
