In UMS, how can I look up someone's phone number?

When dialing into the Unified Messaging Service (UMS) system, you can place a call using the individual's last name if the person has elected to be published in the UMS directory:

  1. Dial the telephone number for UMS on your campus; see What are the telephone numbers for UMS?

  2. Enter your full 10-digit mailbox number (e.g., 812-855-4848).

  3. Enter your UMS passcode, and then press  # .

  4. Press 9 to place a call, and then press 2 to use the Dial by Name feature.

  5. Enter the first four characters of the user's last name. The system will then play the name and telephone number of all users in the UMS directory whose names start with those four characters.

  6. Enter the 10-digit telephone number of the party you would like to call. The system will then transfer your call to that telephone number.
