About Microsoft Desktop eLearning Courses
As part of the IU/Microsoft Campus Agreement, Indiana University students, faculty, and staff can take Microsoft Desktop eLearning Courses on Office applications, FrontPage, Visio, Project, and Windows end-user skills. The courses are certified to prepare you to take Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exams.
Note: To run the Microsoft Desktop eLearning Courses, you will need to download and install them on your computer.
As part of a new offering from Microsoft, students, faculty, and staff on all Indiana University campuses can access Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 end-user Microsoft eLearning self-study courses through Microsoft's web site.
Fees
As part of IU's site license with Microsoft, Microsoft Desktop eLearning Courses are free for students, faculty, and staff affiliated with any IU campus.
Features
Microsoft Desktop eLearning Courses have the following features:
- Searchable content: Search an entire course and related reference materials for what you need to learn.
- Jump to a topic: Go directly to the topic of your choice from the table of contents.
- Download and learn: Download all or part of a course to your desktop for offline playback.
- Locally installed: Play the courses back whether or not you are connected.
- Skills assessment: Take self-paced exams to help you assess your skills.
- MOS preparation: Microsoft Office application courses cover the material in the MOS exams.
Technical requirements
Supported operating systems for Microsoft eLearning for Office 2007 include Windows 7, Vista, and XP.
Supported operating systems for Microsoft eLearning for Office 2003 include Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98, or NT 4.0.
