How do I access IU's MDSS/HPSS from my TeraGrid account?
If you have a TeraGrid account, you should be able to connect to Indiana University's Massive Data Storage Service (MDSS) using a GridFTP client to access the following address:
gridftp.mdss.iu.eduFor information on GridFTP clients, visit the GridFTP page in the TeraGrid User Support documentation.
Before you can connect to the MDSS using your TeraGrid certificate,
you need to add it to IU's Big Red system. For help, email
help@teragrid.org .
TeraGrid-only accounts (those that start with "tg-") are mostly limited to the GridFTP protocol. Other methods such as web, Kerberized FTP, Samba, and SFTP all require Kerberos authentication, rather than the GSI authentication that grids use. Kerberos authentication requires an IU Network ID.
