In the IUB STCs, where can I print a large map or poster?
At Indiana University Bloomington, you can find a large format plotter (for prints up to 36" wide) in the Student Technology Center (STC) at the Information Commons (IC). The cost is $10 for a graphics-quality plot with glossy or matte finish.
A plotter with graphics-quality output is best for printing photographic images and detailed maps from geographic information systems (GIS) or remote sensing applications, as well as other highly detailed visual output.
Output lost or damaged due to plotter malfunction (e.g., jams, low ink, out of paper) may be eligible for print credit.
Note: Color printing is intended for academic purposes, and UITS cannot guarantee publication-quality results. Credit is not available for unexpected but otherwise usable color output unless the output was damaged due to system malfunction.
For more, see When printing at IUB, how do I get a refund for unacceptable printouts?
At IUB, to select an STC printer using Windows:
- From the
Startmenu, selectPrograms, thenUtilities, thenPrinters, and thenColor Printers.
- Select one of the color plotters listed above.
Note: When you print to a color printer, you will need to notify the Technology Center Consultant on duty in order to release it; see In the IUB STCs, what do I need to know about color printing?
