How do I forward a UMS voice mail message?

Forwarding a UMS voice mail to another UMS user

To forward a Unified Messaging Service (UMS) voice mail message to another UMS user:

  1. After listening to the message you wish to forward, press 2 to forward to an extension.
  2. Enter the 10-digit mailbox number followed by  # .
  3. When you have finished, press  # .
  4. Press 1 to send or press 2 to record a comment. Press 3 to send without priority.

Forwarding a UMS voice mail to a non-UMS user

To forward a UMS voice mail message to a non-UMS user, forward the email message containing the voice message to that person's email account. The person receiving the message can then access the message as a .wav file.

For more about accessing voice mail messages through UMS, see In UMS, how do I check my voice mail?

For help learning how to use UMS, view the UMS Voicemail Training Video, or print the UMS Wallet Card of common shortcuts.

If you have questions about your UMS account on an office phone, contact a Telecommunications Consultant at 812-856-2287 (IUB) or 317-274-3004 (IUPUI). Campus housing residents at IUB and IUPUI, contact Campus Housing Telephone Services at 812-855-4455. (This call is free from any campus phone at either campus by dialing 5-4455.) To report trouble with UMS, call 812-855-2111 (IUB) or 317-274-3004 (IUPUI).
