In Netscape Navigator 6.2, 7.1, or 7.2, how do I remove a stored password?
To remove a stored (cached) password in Netscape Navigator 6.2, 7.1, or 7.2, follow the instructions below:
- From the
Editmenu, choosePreferences....
- In the left frame, expand the menu next to
Privacy & Security. In Navigator 7.1 or 7.2, choosePasswords; in Navigator 6.2, chooseWeb Passwords.
- To stop the application from storing passwords in the future, in
Navigator 7.1 or 7.2, uncheck the box next to
Remember Passwords. In Navigator 6.2, uncheck the box next toRemember passwords for sites that require me to log in. Additionally, you may clickManage Stored Passwordsin Navigator 7.1 or 7.2, orView Stored Passwordsin Navigator 6.2. This will open a new window with the following options:
- Under the
Passwords Savedtab, you can see which sites and usernames have saved password data associated with them. You can select a site and clickRemoveto clear the stored password for that site, or you can clickRemove Allto clear all stored passwords for all the sites listed.
- Under the
Passwords Never Savedtab, you can instruct Navigator not to save login information for the sites you specify.
- Under the

OK.
