Your IU financial aid information

To access your Indiana University financial aid award summary and need data (including cost of attendance, expected family contribution, estimated need, total aid, and remaining need):

  1. Log into OneStart. The "Student Center" area should be visible; if it is not, select the Services tab, and choose the Student Self-Service section on the left.

    Click Go to Student Center.

Note: The Student Center and other Self-Service applications use pop-up pages and subpages. If your Internet pop-up blocker is set to block all pop-ups, you'll need to turn it off or change the setting to allow these pop-ups; see For Windows web browsers, how do I enable or disable pop-ups? For further assistance, contact your local Support Center.

  2. Under "Finances", click View Financial Aid. Click the desired aid year.

When you have reviewed the information, you have the following options:

  • If your campus displays the Financial Aid Need Summary link, click it to see how your estimated financial aid budget and expected family contribution were calculated. To return to the summary page, click Return.

  • If your campus displays the Estimated Financial Aid Budget link, click it to see how your cost of attendance was calculated. To return to the summary page, click Return.

  • To display a printable copy of your award letter, click View Award Notification.

  • To accept or decline financial aid awards, from either the main Student Center page or the summary page, click Accept/Decline Awards.

Review your award information; click the name of an award for more information about its disbursal. The default for your awards will be Accept; to change it, check Decline.

When you have made your selections for all of the awards listed, click Submit. On the Submit Confirmation page, click OK.

Note: Do not click Submit until you have verified that all awards have been marked correctly. Awards that have been previously accepted or declined and saved are no longer available for updating; if the checkboxes are grayed out, you can no longer accept or decline these awards.

Note: Most changes occur in real time. However, if you see the word "pending" opposite a changed award, it may take up to 24 hours before your changes are reflected.

Viewing your federal student loan and/or Pell Grant history

To access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) for information about your federal student loan and/or Pell Grant history:

  1. From the OneStart Services tab, select Services Home from the left menu.

  2. Under "My Finances", click National Student Loan Data. If you are warned about leaving a secure site, click Yes.

  3. Follow the instructions on the NSLDS web site. (This is a government-maintained web page and is not associated with IU.)
