At IUB, what are the STC and RTC network printer paths and models?
At Indiana University Bloomington, UITS provides printer utilities for Windows 7, Vista, and XP and for Mac OS X that will automatically install Student Technology Center (STC) and Residential Technology Center (RTC) printers; see How do I obtain and use the IU Printer Finder utility?
If you wish to install your printer connection manually, the network paths for the STC and RTC printers are listed below. When configuring your computer to connect to a printer in the RTCs, select the required information that corresponds with the type and general location of the printer(s) you wish to use.
Note: You do not need this information if you use the IU Printer Finder with your Windows or Mac OS X personal computer.
For Windows computers, you will need to enter the entire network path;
e.g., for all IUB B&W RTC printers, you would enter
\\bl-uits-pa18\rtcprt . For Mac OS X, enter the
printer queue information in bold at the end of the network path
string; e.g., for all IUB RTC black-and-white printers, you would
enter rtcprt . However, you will need to note the
network path (\\bl-uits-pa18\).
To manually connect your computer to your RTC's network printer, see In IUB campus housing, using Windows, how do I connect to my RTC's network printer? or In IUB campus housing, using Mac OS X, how do I connect to my RTC's network printer?
