Good practices for teaching with technology: Develop reciprocity and cooperation among students
Following are some examples of projects by AT&T Fellows Program recipients at Indiana University that illustrate the good practice of developing reciprocity and cooperation among students:
Active participation in mathematical discovery
This series of problem-based exercises using Geometer's Sketchpad software was developed by Vesna Kilibarda. The exercises encourage active participation in mathematical discovery by allowing students to draw and drag figures, and to see and compare them from multiple perspectives. For more information, see Kilibarda's Good Practices project page.
Students learn to start up and operate an e-business
This project from Howard Rosenbaum guides teams of students through exercises to simulate a small business startup. Performance is measured partly by the success of the simulated enterprise. For more, see Rosenbaum's Good Practices project page.
