In Oncourse CL, how can I recover deleted or archived course data?

For files deleted from Resources in Oncourse CL, UITS provides a shared-system file recovery service; see At IU, who can recover files and email accidentally deleted from UITS central systems?

For data stored in other areas, UITS strongly urges you to take precautions when deleting items from within a course or project site. If user-deleted data must be recovered, the minimum fee is $150.

Note: A recovery of grade information requested by the Office of the Registrar (e.g., in an official grade dispute) will not incur a charge.

Additionally, when a course is over, be sure to export and save any information you wish to keep. Courses are no longer available online after eight semesters (where both summer terms together constitute one semester); the minimum fee for retrieving data from courses more than eight semesters old is $65. Course site information can be recovered for five years beyond the end of the course at the request of an instructor; course site information older than five years cannot be recovered.

To make a request to recover course or project site data, contact your campus Support Center.

To charge the file recovery fee to a departmental account, email your request to  ithelp@iu.edu , or call the Support Center at 812-855-6789 or 317-274-4357. You will need to supply an account number (for billing purposes), information about the lost data, and the date the data were lost.
