At IU, what is OneStart?
OneStart, Indiana University's web portal developed by UITS, presents a single front door to online services for IU students, faculty, and staff (the IU web page will continue to exist and serve as a starting point for individuals not currently affiliated with IU). OneStart provides easy access to services such as searching the web, personal calendaring, registering for classes, reading email, browsing the library catalog, checking the IU Auditorium schedule, reading campus news, browsing the classifieds, and more. By editing your "My Zone", you can add personalized content to the portal. Based on feedback from the IU community, OneStart will evolve over time to incorporate an increasing number of valuable online services.OneStart is located at:
https://onestart.iu.edu/Content and service publishing in OneStart is distributed in order to allow service providers the flexibility to publish and own their content. This distributed approach allows publishers to monitor and maintain their information and services in order to keep their content up to date and pertinent. The OneStart publishing tools also provide publishers the opportunity to "expire" their services by a certain date if the information or service will become outdated.
OneStart currently works with the Linux, Macintosh, and Windows operating systems.
