In Windows, why does SSH Secure Shell keep warning me about the SSH1 protocol?
SSH Communications Security's SSH Secure Shell is an SSH2
client that can connect to SSH1 servers. Since SSH1 is not as secure
as SSH2, the program displays a warning when it detects an SSH1
server. When the warning comes up and asks you whether you want to
accept this connection, click Yes to connect.
To change the security level of the program to either allow SSH1 connections without displaying the warning, or deny SSH1 connections:
- From the
Editmenu, selectSettings....
- If it's not open already, in the tree on the left side of the
Settingsdialog box, click to open theGlobal Settingscategory.
- Click
Security. In the "SSH1 Connections" section, selectAlloworDeny.
- Click
OK. From theFilemenu, selectSaveto save your new setting.
