What is an IU username and how do I get one?
At Indiana University, a username is the name with which you access
systems on the IU network. That access is relative to your status at
IU. For admitted students, faculty, and staff, your IU username is the
part of your IU email address before the @
(at symbol), for example,
this_is_my_username@indiana.edu . For more
information, see How do I get my first computing accounts at IU?
As an IU applicant or former student, you will not receive an IU email address, but you can create a new or reinstate an old IU username, which will allow you to check your application status, pay bills, or view your transcript online. For more information, see At IU, how do applicants obtain an IU computing account?
Under some circumstances, people not regularly associated with IU may be eligible for accounts. For more information, see At IU, what computing accounts are available to people who are not students, faculty, or staff?
If you have forgotten your password, see At IU, if I forget my passphrase on a UITS shared central system, what should I do?
