On my LISTSERV list, how do I restrict who can view the list of subscribers?
To restrict who can view the list of subscribers, a list owner can modify the Review keyword in the list configuration, also known as the list header. For more information about requesting and editing the LISTSERV header file, see the Knowledge Base document On my LISTSERV list, how can I modify the list header?
By default, all LISTSERV lists at Indiana University are created so that only the owner can review the list. The Review keyword is set to Owner, as follows:
Review= OwnerWhen the Review keyword is set to Private, only those who are on the mailing list are able to view a list of the subscribers:
Review= PrivateIf the Review keyword is set to Public, anyone can use the
Review command to see a list of subscribers:
To restrict Review to users within the list's service area, list owners may set the Review keyword to Service, and define the Service keyword appropriately:
Review= ServiceFor more information about the Service keyword, see the Knowledge Base document On my LISTSERV list, what is the Service keyword, and how do I use it?
