What is Procmail?

Note: UITS offers no formal support for Procmail. The Procmail man pages are not available on the UITS central Unix systems.

Procmail is a mail processing utility for Unix. With it, you may sort and filter your email based on rules that you create. It is very powerful, but for inexperienced users it is also easy to accidentally misfile or even destroy your mail. For more information, read the following man pages: procmail, procmailrc, procmailex, and procmailsc. Also consult the Procmail web page at: http://www.procmail.org/
