In Windows 2000 or XP, how do I expand my Start menu?
Personalized Menus is a feature in Windows 2000 and
XP that lowers clutter in the Programs menu by
hiding items that have not been accessed recently. To view
the hidden programs and expand the menu, click the down arrow
at the bottom of the menu. Clicking this arrow will expand the
menu until the next time you select the Programs
menu.
To expand the menu permanently:
- From the
Startmenu, selectSettings, and thenTaskbar & Start Menu....Note: If this doesn't match what you see, refer to About navigation settings in Windows.
Alternatively, right-click an empty part of the Taskbar, and then select
Properties. -
In Windows XP, select the
Start Menutab, chooseClassic Start menu, and then selectCustomize. In the bottom of the window that appears, uncheckUse Personalized Menus. In Windows 2000, near the bottom of the
Taskbar and Start Menu Propertieswindow, uncheckUse Personalized Menus, and then clickOK.
