ARCHIVED: In Windows 2000, how do I install AppleTalk for printing?
Note: Currently, Windows XP does not support AppleTalk.
In general, it is best to use IP printing when printing from a Windows 2000 computer to an Apple printer. For more information, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: In Windows 2000, how do I use IP printing?
Note: AppleTalk and IPX routing are no longer available on the Indiana University network.
Windows 2000 Professional can use the AppleTalk protocol to print to Apple printers on the network. AppleTalk with Windows 2000 is only for printing; it will not allow you to share files with a Macintosh computer, either as a client or as a server.
