In Windows 2000 or XP, how do I manually set up a network connection?

Note: If you live in the residence halls at IUPUI or Indiana University Bloomington or in Greek housing at IUB, do not manually configure your computer to connect to the IU network. Use the Get Connected web site instead; for more information, see What is Get Connected, and what does it do?

To manually set up a network connection in Windows 2000 or XP, follow the instructions below. For specific information on the settings you need to use to connect to the IUB network or the IUPUI network, see At IUB or IUPUI, what information will I need to configure my Internet software?
