ARCHIVED: For Mac OS and Mac OS X, what is Disk Copy?

Disk Copy is a utility program for creating, copying, mounting, and converting disk images in Mac OS and Mac OS X. With it, you can create disk image files from folders, floppy disks, hard disk partitions, CDs, DVDs, and other media. You can also mount existing disk image files onto the desktop, or in Mac OS X 10.1 and 10.2, burn them to writable CD and DVD media.

In Mac OS X 10.3, Disk Copy was removed and its capabilities were added to Disk Utility.
