For Unix, where can I find GNU software packages?

You may download the source files for GNU software, such as Emacs, gcc, bash, and texinfo, from GNU's FTP server. This site is very busy; if your download is slow, you may have better luck with one of the mirror sites listed on the GNU FTP Mirror List. Look for a site close to you.

At Indiana University, UITS maintains a mirror of GNU software packages.

You may also obtain GNU software on CD-ROM. GNU has order forms at the Free Software Foundation Online Shop.

A list of the GNU software packages, with descriptions and links to online manuals, is available at the GNU Operating System web site.

At Indiana University, for personal or departmental Linux or Unix systems support, see At IU, how do I get support for Linux or Unix?

This is document agxs in domain all.
