In Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP, how can I see who is using resources remotely on my computer?

To review remote resource usage in Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP, follow these steps:

  1. In Windows XP, from the Start menu, select Programs or All Programs, then Accessories, and then Command Prompt. In NT 4.0 or 2000, from the Start menu, select Programs, and then Command Prompt.

  2. The Command Prompt window will open. At the prompt, enter: net session
  3. To remove an attached computer, enter: net session \\computername /delete

    Replace computername with the name of the computer you want to detach.
