In Windows 2000, XP, and Vista, how do I convert a FAT partition to an NTFS partition?

To convert a FAT partition to NTFS in Windows 2000, XP, or Vista, at the command prompt, enter: convert X:/fs:ntfs Replace  X  with the drive letter of the FAT partition you are converting. You will have to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
