In Mac OS X, how can I use Java?

Mac OS X implements Java 2. For the most recent version of Java in Mac OS X, use Software Update; see For Mac OS X, how do I obtain and install system software updates?

Current web browsers, including Safari and Firefox, all support Java.

If you are interested in developing with Java, Xcode (the Mac OS X developers' tools) includes support for Java. Other development tools include JBuilder, IDEA, Eclipse, NetBeans, and JDeveloper. For more, see Apple Developer Connection.

For more information, visit Apple's Java web page.
